Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that he had proposed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leadership to make Eknath Shinde the new Chief Minister after the collapse of the MVA government last week.  After a 10-day hiatus, Shinde, who had rebelled against Shiv Sena leadership, brought down the government with BJP's support.
