The first airport of Sikkim has become ready to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 24th September. The most important thing of this airport is that it is only 60 Km away from China’s boarder, it will have a tremendous increase in the military power of India in this region, and now it has been fought with China. The situation in which we were fighting at the border was not able to reach the time of food and medical material,other than the accessory, Which we did not get treatment at the time of the death of many of our soldiers and of hunger.
According to reports, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Sikkim on September 23, he will stay at Raj Bhawan and inaugurate the state’s very first airport at Pakyong the next day, a senior official has said.
After inaugurating the airport at around 10 am on September 24, the Prime Minister will address a public meeting at St. Xaviers School ground at Pakyong and return to New Delhi the same day, Chief Secretary, A K Shrivastava, said after chairing a high-level meeting.
The greenfield airport, located 30 km from here, will put Sikkim on the aviation map of the country. “I am very happy to share that the Prime Minister is visiting Sikkim for the second time and this time he will be inaugurating the Pakyong Airport, which is ready and has undergone trials on two occasions in March,” the Chief Secretary said.
The state government has been intimated by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) and the Union Civil Aviation Ministry about the Prime Minister’s visit and the airport inauguration, he said. After the formal inauguration of the airport, commercial operation of flights will commence from the airport in the first week of October, the Chief Secretary said.
